OUR ENVIRONMENT

The Northern Garrison is a NA-based light-RP, family-friendly kinship on the Laurelin server.  We role-play through our immersive storyline, structure and select events, while maintaining an OOC kinchat channel. As a family-friendly, family-built kinship, we welcome those who respect this environment and refrain from vulgar, inappropriate language and interactions.

OUR STRUCTURE

The Northern Garrison recognizes three divisions as part of its RP structure.  Each division has its own webpage, degree of RP, and is purposed with a unique role within the larger company.  More information about each division can be found using the links below.

  • VILLAGERS:  General, Commoner Lifestyle - Inhabitant of Grenrill Village (No-RP & Light-RP)

  • SENTRIES:  Military, Combat-focused Lifestyle - Official Uniform, Ranks, Titles, and Enlistment (Med-RP)

  • MERCHANTS:  Trading Lifestyle - Collaborative Entrepreneurship and Commerce with the Server-wide Community (Heavy-RP)

Please note that these divisions are primarily intended for RP purposes.  Members are welcome to RP within their designated division to the degree that they wish.  Each character is treated as its own being, allowing for players to have alts in multiple divisions.

HOW TO JOIN

The Northern Garrison welcomes those who are interested in becoming a part of our LOTRO family as long as they adhere to our kinship environment, participate in our kinship structure, and respect our kinship members.  While we do not have a formal induction period, we do maintain the rank of Recruit until division leaders feel a promotion to Kinsman/Kinswoman is appropriate.

If you would like to speak with someone about joining our kinship, contact one of our recruiting officers in-game by IM or Mail Message.  Please note that if you wish to join as a Sentry, you will need to submit an application: NORTHERN GARRISON SENTRY HANDBOOK: Enlistment & Service.

We are a small yet tight-knit kinship.  While we may not have the dynamic schedule or expansive fellowship opportunities that one might expect in a large kinship, our emphasis is on enriching each other's  individual experiences in Middle-earth through developing close, enduring friendships along the way.

As a small kinship, we encourage and support members to immerse themselves, individually and collectively, into the global community for social and grouping opportunities, knowing full well that our kinship remains a steadfast safe-haven for our unique story, structure, and fellowship.

Simply put, the Laurelin server is our community and this kinship, our home.
